Senator Karimi Condemns the gruesome murder of security operatives, urges for calm and tranquility

Senator Karimi Condemns the gruesome murder of security operatives, urges for calm and tranquility

The Senator representing Kogi West in the national assembly, Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi has condemned in it’s entirety the gruesome killings of gallant police officers and vigilantes in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government of Kogi State’ on Wednesday.

According to information filtering in from the Senator’s office, the peoples representative have assured a thorough, timely investigation and subsequent apprehension of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

While on their routine call of duty along Egbe – Ilorin road, criminal elements masquerading as cattle rearers attacked the unsuspecting Police Officers and Vigilantes, thereby sparkling unimaginable tension and wholesale protests in and around Egbe metropolis in Yagba West Local Government.

According to the statement, ” Senator Karimi has received with utmost regret, pain and concern the reports of the security breach @ 1400 GMT, 11th September, 2025 at Egbe, Yagba West Local Government, which unfortunately resulted to the loss of 3 Police Officers and 2 Vigilantes,” the statement read.

” As a responsive and proactive representative of the people of Kogi West, Senator Karimi stands in solidarity with the people & hereby, extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, who unfortunately, paid dearly for the price of protecting lives and property. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, their gallantry & bravery will continue to inspire hope in the unrelenting efforts to combating crimes and criminalities in Kogi West Senatorial District,” the statement further stated.

As law – abiding citizens, Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi urges residents of Egbe and nearby communities to sheath their swords, remain calm as the perpetrators of the heinous crime will be fished out and justice served accordingly.
