Sultan Congratulates Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim on Omi-Akele-Atta Title, Commends Atta of Igala

The Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has congratulated Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim on the conferment of the chieftaincy title Omi-Akele-Atta by the Atta of Igala.
The title was conferred by the Atta Igala and President of the Kogi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Matthew Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II.
The Sultan’s message was delivered on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Atta Igala’s Palace in Idah, Kogi State, during the conferment ceremony. He was represented by Sadauna Isa Abdulazeez Abba.
According to the Sultan, the chieftaincy title bestowed on Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim is a testament to her unwavering commitment to the service of the Igala Kingdom and humanity at large—qualities the Sultanate had observed over time.
He described Hajiya Ramatu as a loving and kind-hearted woman who has shown uncommon passion for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden, not only within the Igala Kingdom but across Nigeria.
The Sultan commended the Atta of Igala for identifying and honouring Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim with the revered title of Omi-Akele-Atta Igala, expressing delight at the recognition of her selfless contributions.
He urged other sons and daughters of the Igala Kingdom and Nigerians at large to emulate her virtues. He also encouraged traditional rulers to continue recognizing deserving individuals through chieftaincy titles as a way of promoting community service, national development, and humanitarian values.
The Sultan concluded by praying that Almighty Allah grants Hajiya Ramatu Ibrahim good health, long life, and the strength to continue impacting lives and rendering greater service to the Igala Kingdom and humanity.
