The Vice Chairman of the Uhurie Political Parliament (UPP), Comrade Wilson Eruteyan, has declared that “the coast is clear” for Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie, JP, to sail into the Delta State House of Assembly as the representative of Ughelli South Constituency I in the 2027 general elections.

Eruteyan made the declaration shortly after the inauguration and swearing-in of the newly constituted executive committee of the Uhurie Political Parliament at Ekakpamre, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The event, held at the residence of the Founder and National Leader of the UPP, Olorogun Francis Vevakpor, attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, members of the organisation and supporters of Okomitie from different parts of Ughievwen Kingdom.

Speaking after the inauguration, Eruteyan said the emergence of the new executive had given the organisation renewed strength and direction as it prepares for the political activities leading to the 2027 elections.

According to him, the UPP has moved beyond merely expressing support for Okomitie’s aspiration and is now focused on building the grassroots structure required to communicate his political message to the people.

He said the organisation would intensify its mobilisation across the various communities and political blocs within Ughelli South Constituency I.
Eruteyan specifically mentioned Orhoghe, Ohwaha and Ukpedi as areas where the UPP intends to strengthen its mobilisation efforts.

He expressed confidence in Okomitie’s prospects, citing what he described as his extensive political network, grassroots acceptance and previous engagements with the people.

“The coast is clear for Okomitie to sail into the Delta State House of Assembly,” Eruteyan declared, expressing optimism that the candidate would secure the support required to emerge victorious in the 2027 election.

He said the UPP would work to ensure that the political message of Okomitie reaches the electorate at the grassroots, adding that the organisation was prepared to mobilise its members and supporters across Ughievwen Kingdom.
UPP Seeks Political Unity

Eruteyan’s declaration came against the backdrop of calls by the Founder and National Leader of the UPP, Olorogun Francis Vevakpor, for greater political unity among the people of Ughievwen Kingdom.

Vevakpor had urged political stakeholders to put their differences aside and work together in the interest of the people.

He explained that the Uhurie Political Parliament was established to provide a common political platform through which Uhurie sons and daughters, irrespective of their political party affiliations, could articulate and pursue their collective interests.

He also called on the people to support Okomitie’s aspiration, describing it as part of the group’s broader effort to advance the political interest of
of Uhurie in particular and Ughievwen kingdom in general.
