As the crescent moon heralds the sacred day of Maulud, commemorating the birth of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the air across Kebbi South is filled not just with celebration, but with solemn reflection. In the heart of this momentous occasion, the Distinguished Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has issued a profound Maulud message that has struck a chord with many across Kebbi State and Nigeria at large.
In a press statement released to journalists on Friday, Senator Maidoki extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing that Maulud is not just a time of festivity, but a season to revisit and recommit to the timeless values exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
> “Maulud is not merely a celebration; it is a sacred occasion that reminds us of the timeless virtues, teachings, and exemplary life of the Seal of all Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him),” Maidoki stated.
He urged Muslims, particularly in Kebbi South Senatorial District and across Nigeria, to use the period for deep spiritual introspection and recommitment to the Prophet’s model of leadership — a life rooted in compassion, justice, humility, and unwavering faith. In times where discord and division threaten communal harmony, Maidoki’s message stands as a reminder of the unifying force of faith and the power of prophetic example.
Senator Maidoki, known for his grassroots leadership and advocacy for inclusive governance, emphasized in his Maulud message the critical need for peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance, and compassion for the less fortunate.
> “Let us use this season to deepen our love for one another, support the needy, and recommit ourselves to the values of honesty, sacrifice, and piety, as taught by the Holy Prophet,” he said.
As the economic challenges continue to test the resilience of communities, the Senator’s call to action is a timely encouragement to extend hands of charity and kindness, particularly through the fulfillment of Zakkat (almsgiving), a religious obligation for Muslims who are financially capable.
Another strong pillar of Maidoki’s Maulud message was his passionate appeal for the strengthening of Islamic education, especially the Qur’anic and Tsangaya school systems. He called on individuals, religious bodies, and institutions to invest in these educational models as vehicles for moral development, enlightenment, and youth empowerment.
> “It is through the nurturing of young minds with the wisdom of the Qur’an and prophetic teachings that we can build a morally upright and progressive society,” he affirmed.
