An Open Letter to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
Title: Give Us Oases in the Desert of Lost Hope
Your Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year, 2026.. My Special greetings to you and all members of the Federal Executive Council for weathering the storm on the saddle so far to this second half of your first tenure.
Mr President Sir, there comes a defining moment in the life of every nation when the silence of despair grows louder than the noise of celebration. Nigeria stands at such a moment in its history. Across communities, ethnic nationalities, kingdoms and institutions one can clearly see and feel the deep weariness of a people burdened by broken promises, shrinking opportunities and an increasingly uncertain future.
Today, from the Prism of the Ruled , if must be brutally Frank with you like Chief EK Clark of blessed memory, our nation can best be described as a Desert of Lost Hope — a land in desperate need of oases. Numerous great and laudable national dreams that once inspired Nigerians from the First Republic up till this time have struggled to survive. All our nation building effort has been weakened by corruption, policy inconsistency and leadership failures. Faith in the Nigerian project continues to erode as many citizens perceive government policies as distant from their daily realities.
Unemployment continues to rise, hunger spreads across households, and insecurity remains a persistent threat. Our sincere kudos to Big Daddy President Trump of US who came with some respite as a Daniel to judgement on Christmas day to serve the bandits the cup of tea they deserve in Sokoto.
Unknowingly to you Mr President, behind closed doors, many families in the Present day Nigeria battles unseen storms. Young people wander in search of direction, parents labour without reward, and the elders worry over a society they can no longer recognise and interpret. The weight of disappointment has grown so heavy that optimism is beginning to feel like a luxury.
Yet history teaches us that no desert remains barren forever. Every wilderness holds the potential to produce an oasis — a place of renewal, restoration and revival. What Nigeria urgently requires in this season under your watch in Aso Rock is an oasis of leadership, compassion, justice and purpose capable of restoring confidence to the weary and direction to the lost.
Our deepest crisis is not merely economic or political; it is moral and spiritual. When trust in leadership collapses, institutions loses credibility, and citizens feel abandoned by those elected to serve them and hope slowly evaporates. The consequence is a society drifting without vision, where survival replaces progress and fear replaces faith. From the Prism of the Ruled we are right now in a strait quagmire.
Nevertheless, hope remains a powerful force. It is reborn when leaders choose service over self, when policies are guided by conscience, and when the people rediscover the strength of unity. Oases begins with courageous leadership — leadership that refuses to surrender to despair, that speaks life into broken systems, and commits to rebuilding what has been damaged.
Nigeria needs leaders who see beyond personal ambition and short-term political gains — leaders whose decisions are anchored on integrity, empathy and accountability. We need communities that choose cooperation over conflict, dialogue over division, and compassion over indifference. We need citizens who understand that every act of responsibility and honesty contributes to the collective healing of our land.
Mr President, l urge you to further mobilize Faith institutions, civil society organisations, traditional authorities and government agencies to work together with you to restore national confidence and direction. When the pillars of society rise in unity, hope will truly become visible again. When young people are empowered, families are supported and the vulnerable are protected, the desert begins to bloom.
An oasis does not appear overnight. It is built through patience, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the common good. But once established, it becomes a refuge for the weary, a source of life for the struggling and a clear signal that tomorrow can indeed be better than today.
Your Excellency , your Renewed Hope initiative RHI carries a powerful and appropriate message for this moment in Nigeria’s history. The slogan itself speaks directly to the desperate need of the people. However, hope must move beyond words . For the Renewed Hope initiative to truly resonate and for it to have a psychological penetration with the Masses you have to do things differently , not only as seen in APC rallies. The RHI we insist must be implemented with transparency, sincerity so that it will visibly touch the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians which l sincerely represent as a comrade.
Nigerians has witnessed many well-intentioned programmes and policies in the past — from Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation, to Operation Feed the Nation, the Green Revolution, DFRRI, SAP, STEEL PLANTS and various anti-corruption campaigns. Many failed not because the ideas were flawed, but because implementation fell short of the people’s expectations.
Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the difference between slogan and legacy lies in execution. Nigeria , The Desert of Lost Hope can only be healed when The Renewed Hope initiative is converted into tangible improvements in living conditions, job creation, security, economic stability and social justice.
Your Excellency, this is the moment for your administration to rise beyond history’s pitfalls and offer Nigeria the oases it so desperately seeks. If the Renewed Hope initiative is matched with decisive action and genuine people-centered governance, it can become the foundation of a new national rebirth — one defined not by despair , but by dignity, opportunity and restored faith in the project Nigerian dream .
Let me emphasize that the desert of lost hope we found ourselves should not define our destiny.
The oases we build through responsible leadership, shared sacrifice and collective commitment will.
This can be achieved through our collective effort with you President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ready with deep commitment and utmost sincerity to take the ship of state to a safe haven.
PBAT we count on you for a better Nigeria. Once again l wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year 2026.
My Best Regards to you and the federal executive council Most Respectfully.
In God we trust
