Chief Fehinti Dada believes it’s Okun’s turn to produce a governor in Kogi State, following Governor Ododo’s two terms.
Chief Fehinti Dada, former Executive Chairman of Ijumu LGA and current Coordinator of Okun League of Progressive Elites (OLOPE), Ijumu Chapter, believes it’s Okun’s turn to produce a governor in Kogi State, following Governor Ododo’s two terms. He supports the agitation for an Okun governor, acknowledging the growing momentum behind this movement.
“The agitation for an Okun governor is not only legitimate but also long overdue. I’ve tried to stay out of the debate, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts. The ongoing clamor has started on the wrong note. If we see this as an Okun agenda, we must approach it with wisdom.
“I’m disturbed by the fact that some individuals are trying to blackmail or intimidate those with differing opinions. I’ve heard people criticizing Hon. Taofik Isah and other appointees of Gov Ododo and FGYB for protesting the interest of the duo. Politics is about interest, and every interest begins with self.
“Let’s not forget that the positions we hold today are rewards for our loyalty. The truth remains that no agenda is superior to the Tinubu agenda, as far as Hon Faleke is concerned.
“We must learn from our past experiences and consider the constitutional requirements for winning the governorship election. To win, we need to score 25% of the total votes in 2/3 of the state, which means winning in 14 local governments.
“We should dialogue with the Igalas and Ebiras, rather than taking a confrontational approach. We need to prioritize unity and dialogue to achieve our goal.
“I appeal to Chief Faleke to beware of efforts to drag him into unnecessary conflicts. Let’s focus on the bigger picture and give Ododo and the people of Central the opportunity to complete their eight years.
“Let’s convene a meeting to discuss the way forward, including meeting with central leaders to secure their support when the time comes.”
