FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chief Hon. Aiyenale Fred Jimoh Declares Senator Sunday Karimi’s 2027 Re-election as Divine Mandate and Political Imperative for Kogi West
KABBA, KOGI STATE – [October 06, 2025]
– Chief Hon. Aiyenale Fred Jimoh, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and critical stakeholder in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, today issued a robust declaration in support of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi (APC, Kogi West), affirming his divine ordination to secure a second term as the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
Chief Aiyenale emphasized that Senator Karimi’s continuation in office is non-negotiable, given his total alignment with the progressive vision of the nation and state leadership.
“Senator Sunday Karimi is the perfect nexus between the aspirations of the Kogi West people and the progressive machinery driving Nigeria forward,”
Chief Aiyenale stated. “His legislative focus and actions are in complete harmony with the ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda of our national leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the developmental initiatives of our visionary State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.”
The Chieftain further stressed the indispensable role of the immediate past Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, in securing the political stability of the State.
“Senator Karimi’s mandate is strategically blessed and fortified by the Grandmaster of Kogi State politics, Dr. Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON. This tripartite alignment—Tinubu, Ododo, and Bello—guarantees that Kogi West will remain a central focus for development and political patronage. To tamper with this winning formula in 2027 would be a costly error.”
Urgent Need for a National Voice Amidst Security Crisis
Chief Aiyenale specifically highlighted the deepening security crisis in parts of the senatorial district, particularly in the Yagba and Bunuland axis, as a compelling reason to retain Senator Karimi.
“The reports emanating from Yagbaland and Bunuland are deeply concerning. Our communities are experiencing a level of insecurity that demands immediate, high-level intervention. Yagbaland and Bunuland are on fire and requires a representative with a proven national voice—one who is already seated at the table in Abuja—to escalate the matter to the Federal Government, secure decisive military and security resources, and restore peace,” he asserted. “Senator Karimi has demonstrated the capacity to be that voice.
We cannot afford to change his candidacy to the National Assembly when the very existence and safety of our people are under threat. We should continue to encourage him and strengthen his capacity to continue to represent the people of Kogi West to ensure the urgency of our security situation is prioritized.”
Chief Aiyenale called on our State’s Leaders, all stakeholders, party members, and constituents across Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, Lokoja, Kogi-Koto, Mopa-Muro, Yagba East, and Yagba West to rally behind Senator Karimi, whom he described as the divine choice and the most politically pragmatic candidate for the forthcoming 2027 senatorial race.
Signed:
Chief Hon. Aiyenale Fred Jimoh
