“Courage and Professionalism”: Hon. TJ Yusuf Hails Security Forces for Rescuing Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren, Teachers
ABUJA — Former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf, has warmly commended Nigeria’s security forces for the successful rescue of schoolchildren and their teachers abducted in Oyo State, describing their safe return as “a profound relief” to families and the nation.
The children and their teachers were reportedly held captive for more than 50 days before they were rescued by security operatives.
In a statement on Saturday, Hon. Yusuf said the operation reflects the courage and professionalism of the nation’s security personnel.
“I warmly commend our gallant security forces for the successful rescue of the Oyo schoolchildren and their teachers after more than 50 days in the captivity of their abductors,” he stated.
“Their safe return is a profound relief to their families and to all Nigerians who have kept them in their thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult period. This successful operation reflects the courage, professionalism, resilience, and unwavering commitment of our security personnel in the service of our nation.”
While celebrating the rescue, the former lawmaker urged government and citizens to remain committed to ending kidnapping and other forms of criminality across the country.
“While we celebrate this outcome, we must remain steadfast in strengthening our collective resolve to end kidnapping and all forms of criminality across the country. Every Nigerian deserves to live, learn, and work in safety,” he said.
Hon. Yusuf also congratulated all those who played a role in securing the victims’ freedom and offered prayers for the continued protection of security personnel.
“I congratulate all those who played a role in securing their freedom and pray that God will continue to protect, strengthen, and guide our security forces as they carry out their vital responsibility,” he added.
The rescue has been widely celebrated across Oyo State and beyond, with parents, community leaders, and stakeholders calling for sustained efforts to secure schools and communities against abductions.
