DR. MAINASARA URGES NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT TO DENOUNCE IMF, WORLD BANK, CALLS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CENTRAL BANK OF AFRICA

The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and other African Nations must denounce their Membership of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank as well.

The above Suggestion was made by Dr. Mainasara Umar Kogo, the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal while delivering his Goodwill Message at the all African Conference on Humans Trafficking, Modern Slavery, Child Labour, Domestic Violence and Other Vices, with the theme, * Ridding African of the Menace of Human Trafficking , Modern Slavery, Child Labour, Domestic Violence and Other Vices” held at the National Center for women Development(NCWD) Abuja, Wednesday November 13th, 2024, a program Organized by the Center for African American Research Studies.

Dr Mainasara opined that the Black world and the Continent of Africa has been impoverished and enslaved economically by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank respectively, asserting that African Nations must as a matter of urgency denounce it Memberships of the these International Monetary Organizations to attain economic Freedom and prosperity.

He advocated for a Congenial and Symbiotic relationship amongst Countries on the Continent of Africa to enable her overcome its Socio economic and Political Challenges.

According to him, the establishment of the Central Bank of Africa would be the first step towards Socio-Economic and political freedom of the African continent.

Commenting on human trafficking, modern Slavery and other vices in African Continent, he stressed that Poverty and the porous nature of the Nation’s borders were major Contributors to the increasing trends of human trafficking witnessed in Nigeria and other Countries in Africa .

In his acceptance Speech after being honoured by the Center for African and American Research Studies, Dr. Mainasara said he was exhilaratingly elated by the honour accorded him, adding that the award was insignia that would enable him do more in ensuring a better Nigeria and the African continent.
