Former Clerks, Deputies of Kogi State House of Assembly, lauds Speaker Umar’s Efficient management of the House

The Association of Former Clerks and Deputy Clerks of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has commended the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar, over the efficient manner with which he has been handling the affairs of the Assembly.

Speaking during a visit of the Forum to the Speaker in his office, the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa-Amoka, noted that his efforts are not only in the areas of legislative practices, but his determination to ensure that an effective and efficient workforce is put in place, theo.

“We acknowledge the efficient manner with which you have been
handling the affairs of the Assembly not only in the areas of legislative practices but your determination to ensure that a determined, effective
and efficient workforce is put in place, through timely renovation of the Assembly ‘chambers that got burnt sometimes ago, the renovation of offices which we have noticed and the prompt attention given to staff welfare in all ramifications.

“The association considers these actions a great strides towards entrenching efficient delivery of services Knowing that public service investment is a necessary venture that should be put in place in order to enhance the competence of the public service for effective and efficient performance towards greater outputs

It is our distinct pleasure to visit your Honourable today to render our heartfelt congratulations on your election to the House and your
appointment as the speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly

Tie Association of retired Clerks and deputy Clerks is a forum put in place to among others; present a platform for robust interaction among members on one hand and between members and members
ot the House of Assembly on the other hand. It is primarily and fundamentally a forum founded on the basis of advocating for continuous and effective interactive
dialogue between those who have served in that capacity with a view of rendering services where necessary in the areas of
capacity building for staff and serving as reservoir for legislative
experience and references.

We acknowledge the efficient manner with which you have been
handling the affairs of the Assembly not only in the areas of legislative practices but your determination to ensure that a determined, effective
and efficient workforce is put in place, through timely renovation of the Assembly ‘chambers that got burnt sometimes ago, the renovation of offices which we have noticed and the prompt attention given to staff welfare in all ramifications. The association considers these actions a

Your Honourable is already aware that the Head of Service of the Legislative Arms of the Government is the Clerk, while the Deputy Clerks as obtains under the Executive Arm of the government permanent Secretaries. The association, though the members ol who are retired are intrinsically tied to the fortune of the House of Assembly and by extension therefore, it is your baby.

On the basis of the foregoing a and knowing your antecedent
concerning human capital development since assumption of office in this hallow house, we will like to implore you to please use the instrumentality of your office to facilitate the payment either in part or in full, our gratuities vwhich we have computed in this memo submitted to you for onward processing to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of kogi
State who himself has demonstrated an unusual penchant for Increased and renewed attention to staff and pensioners welfare since his electior as the Executive Governor of the State.

We will like to use the occasion of this forum to acknowledge the
robust synergy that exist between you and the Clerk, the Deputy
Clerks and between members and staff. This is a demonstration of
effective and transformative leadership quality.

Once again we want to thank you for showing leadership through
practical deeds and actions that shows quality collaboration with other Arms of government and the entrenchment of quality services to the people of Kogi State.

We thank you for granting us this audience despite your tight
Schedule. May God’s mercies and wisdom remain your constant
companion both now and always.
