Gov Ododo Lauds Ekinrin-Adde’s Unity, Backs ₦750 Million Community Development Fund
Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended the people of Ekinrin-Adde in Ijumu Local Government Area for their unity, cultural pride and commitment to community development as they launched a ₦750 million Infrastructure Development Fund during the 2026 Ekinrin-Adde Day Carnival.

The event attracted the presence of distinguished personalities, including the Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum, represented by the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, represented by the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Prof. Habibat Omolara Adubiaro, members of the National Assembly; traditional rulers, and sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Governor Ododo, was represented at the event by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu. He was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Musa, the Executive Chairman of Idah Local Government Area, Hon. Alfa Alilu, Hon. Akogwu Ali, the Permanent Member 1, Kogi State Christian Pilgrimage Board, Pst. Stephen Joseph, and other government officials.
Governor Ododo praised the Central Planning Committee, led by veteran broadcaster, Omoba Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, for successfully organising the event and sustaining the community’s tradition of excellence and development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable development across Kogi State through sustained investments in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment and security, assuring that no community would be left behind in the delivery of the dividends of good governance.
The Governor expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support to states through the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is creating opportunities for sustainable national development.
He urged the people to continue promoting peace, unity, hard work and mutual respect, describing them as the pillars of lasting development.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Central Organising Committee, Prince Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, expressed appreciation to the Governor and other distinguished guests for honouring the community with their presence. He said the carnival, now in its 33rd edition, is aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage, traditions and enduring values of the Ekinrin-Adde people while promoting unity and development.
Highpoint of the program was the commissioning of two 18-seater buses donated to the community by Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as part of his continued support for the development of his ancestral community.
