Governor Mutfwang Cheers Anaguta Nation for Preserving Rich Cultural Heritage.

The Anaguta people of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State gathered in large numbers at the Jos Polo Field to celebrate their rich cultural festival, known as Ishokiri.
Dignitaries from far and near attended the event, which was the second edition of the festival, tagged “Celebrating the Peace and Cultural Diversity of the People of Jos North Local Government Area.”
Chairman of the occasion, Barrister Tanimu Turaki SAN, expressed his joy at being part of this significant event and urged the Anaguta people to sustain the festival and unite as a nation.
In his speech, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, represented by Chief of Staff Engineer Jeremiah Sarmak, said, “This is the best place to be, and I’m fortunate to have been assigned to represent His Excellency, the Governor of Plateau State. Today, we rejoice and celebrate the unique culture of the Anaguta Nation.”
The Governor praised the Anaguta people for preserving their rich cultural heritage and promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development. He also commended their renewed commitment to youth and women empowerment through skills acquisition and modern knowledge.
The governor said that the Ishokiri festival brings together the illustrious sons and daughters of the Anaguta Nation, offering a platform to reinforce communal bonds and engage in meaningful dialogues.
He also paid tribute to the Ujah of Anaguta, His Royal Highness Pozho Johnson Magaji II, for his exemplary leadership and service to humanity.
He further noted that his administration is committed to protecting, preserving, and promoting the dignity and relevance of traditional institutions across Plateau State.
Other Speakers at the occasion include Dr. Daniel Dauda Boka, President of Anaguta Development Association, highlighted the significance of the Ishokiri festival in celebrating the Anaguta Nation’s rich cultural heritage and unity.
While Barrister J.K. Chris, Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, said the event is crucial to the development of the area.
The festival showcased the Anaguta Nation’s unique culture, with various traditional dances and performances. The Governor assured the people that his administration is working tirelessly to restore peace and ensure the safe return of displaced persons in Bokkos and Bassa local government areas.
