Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye Receives Prestigious Award for Empowerment Initiatives, Promises to Do More

Abuja – Member representing Kogi/Lokoja Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye, has been honored with the Democracy Newsline Newspaper Award as the Best House of Reps Member in Empowerment Programs from the North-Central Zone.
Presenting the award to him yesterday at the National Assembly, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer, and Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, Executive Editor, commended the lawmaker for his giant efforts, noting that the recognition highlights his tireless efforts in implementing transformative empowerment programs that have positively impacted his constituents in Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency.
He noted that the lawmaker was supposed to receive the award during the 15th Annual Public Lecture and Awards Ceremony tagged “The Role of Independent Media in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria” held on August 26, 2025, but was away on a national assignment abroad.
He said the award recognizes his commitment, robust representation, and legislative prowess in attracting dividends of democracy to the area.
Aguye’s notable achievements include providing financial support to the aged and widows, paying hospital bills, establishing health centers, offering scholarships, installing solar streetlights, and renovating school buildings.
He recently facilitated a training program for 200 young men and women on entrepreneurship in fishery, poultry, and goat production businesses.
Responding, Hon. Danladi Aguye commended the organization for its well-thought-out initiatives to recognize deserving individuals with such an award, pointing out that the recognition will spur him to do more for the people of his federal constituency going forward.
He said his main focus is to facilitate as many projects and programs as possible that will positively impact the people.
