Idoma Has No Future in APC, Rally Behind ADC for 2027 — AVM Morgan
By Nelson Ogbu
Former Chief of Defence Intelligence and National Coordinator of the Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM), AVM, Monday Morgan (Rtd), has called on Idoma people across Benue State to unite and rally behind the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the only viable platform to actualise their long-standing political aspirations.
Morgan declared that the Idoma people have been completely marginalised within the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the party offers no realistic pathway for their political development.
Speaking on Friday at an Idoma stakeholders’ interactive session with Dr David Olofu at the Armed Forces Officers’ Mess, Abuja, the retired Air Vice Marshal accused Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, of failing to carry Benue South along in both state and national affairs.
“Idoma people are clearly not part of the equation in the APC. From appointments to political inclusion and development, Benue South has been sidelined. This is unacceptable,” Morgan said.
He argued that the sustained exclusion of the zone has left the Idoma people with no option but to chart a new political course through the ADC, which he described as a platform capable of addressing issues of equity, justice and fair representation.
Morgan further reassured stakeholders that the agitation for a Benue State governor of Idoma extraction in 2027 remains firm and achievable, provided the people speak with one voice and align strategically.
“The quest for an Idoma governor in 2027 is solid. What we need now is unity, focus, and the courage to move together under a platform that truly represents our interests,” he added.
The meeting, which brought together prominent Idoma leaders, professionals, and political stakeholders, also featured discussions on the future of Benue South and the need for coordinated political action ahead of the 2027 general elections.
