Kogi NCWS Wants Govt., Security Agencies to Be Proactive, Laments Kidnapping of Women
The Kogi State Chairperson, National Council of Women Society, Mrs Petra Bala Gbogbo has decried the State of Kidnapping of women in the State.
Mrs Baba Gbogbo in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja lamented that already six women have been kidnapped, with many still penciled down for kidnapping.
She lamented that women who are the home keepers are taking into custody, with demands for ransom from this vulnerable segments of the society, urged the persons involved in this dastardly act to have a rethink.
She described women as mothers and wives to those involved in this heinous crime, lamented that women who are the home keepers would be subjected to any form of psychological trauma and torture.
Mrs Bala Gbogbo called on the State Government and all the security agencies to strive towards the protection of women, lamented that the NCWS is pained by the ugly incident.
While the NCWS, Mrs Bala Gbogbo says is praying fervently for timely release and unhurt of those already abducted, with Mrs Alege as a point of reference, urged women to be vigilant and to be security conscious.
The NCWS Chairperson praised the State Government for the efforts in boosting security architecture in the State and the release of some abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara
The Chapter Chairperson of NCWS expressed optimism that the call will lead to the release of the women abducted and a stoppage to the incessant kidnapping of women in the State, lamented that the ugly scenario is unfortunate.
