Kogi State Speaker’s Cup Kicks Off as Sports Management Team Gets Approval
The management team of Sports Illumination has secured approval to organize the Kogi State Speaker’s Cup, a highly anticipated soccer tournament that will bring together youths from the 21 local government areas of the state.
The tournament is designed to hunt for talents, celebrate the harmonious relationship between the executives and legislators, and serve as an indirect campaign mechanism for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The approval was conveyed to the Coordinator of Sports Illumination, Otunba McPherson Dele Olowo, who expressed excitement about the event.

According to Olowo, the tournament is a “REAL assignment” for the team.
The trophy for the competition was officially presented to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, who reiterated his commitment to supporting the event.
The Speaker was flanked by other honorable house members, who also expressed their support for the tournament.
The competition is expected to generate excitement among the youths in the state, with teams from the 21 local government areas set to compete for the coveted trophy.
