LG Polls: Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) to Screen Candidates Next Week.

Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC): Screening of Candidates for Local Government Elections

The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) wishes to inform the public and all stakeholders that the screening of candidates for the upcoming Local Government Elections, scheduled for 15th February 2025, will commence on 20th November 2024 and conclude on 27th November 2024.

This crucial exercise follows the successful conclusion of the sales of Nomination Forms (006, 006A, and 007) on 14th November 2024, at exactly 11:59 PM, as stipulated in the Commission’s election timetable.

Screening Venues:
Chairman and Vice Chairman Candidates: Screening will take place at the KTSIEC Headquarters.
Councillorship Candidates: Screening will be conducted at the respective Local Government Secretariat across the state.
KTSIEC advises all political parties and their candidates to ensure full compliance with the necessary preparations and documentation for the screening and clearance process.

Important Notes:
Only candidates sponsored by political parties and who have successfully completed the nomination process are eligible for screening.
There will be no extensions to the deadlines set by the Commission.
The Commission reiterates its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process.
