The Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has brought honour to Nigeria after winning gold and emerging overall champions at the 14th World Choir Games held in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The choir, conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, clinched the gold medal in the Spiritual Category with 87.38 points.
It also emerged as Champion of the World Choir Games in the Champions Competition, the highest honour at the global choral contest.
In a statement celebrating the victory, the church described the achievement as more than a musical feat.
“This is more than a musical achievement; it is a testament to discipline, excellence, dedication, teamwork and the power of using our gifts to glorify God,” the statement said.
“From Nigeria to the world, Mountain Top Chorale has raised the banner high.”
The World Choir Games, often referred to as the “Olympics of Choral Music,” brings together choirs from across the globe to compete in different categories. The 2026 edition held in Helsingborg drew thousands of choristers and music.
The Church leaders and members of the MFM family have since hailed the victory as a proud moment for Nigeria and the body of Christ.
“We celebrate every chorister, the conductor, the leadership, and everyone whose sacrifice and commitment made this victory possible,” the statement added.
“Congratulations, Mountain Top Chorale! To God alone be all the glory!”
The win adds to Nigeria’s growing profile in global gospel and choral music, and puts the Mountain Top Chorale among the elite choirs recognized on the world stage.
