NIGER STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PASSES THE STATE MEDIUM TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK 2025- 2027 BILL .

The Niger State House of Assembly has passed the State Medium Term Expenditure framework for 2025– 2027 Bill in accordance with Section
13 (1) of the Niger State Fiscal Responsibility Law, held at the plenary of the House on Tuesday 12th Nov 2024.

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Appropriation and Member Rafi Constituency, Hon Zubairu Ismaila while presenting the report stated that the MTEF is a multi year framework for working policy, planning and bb hudgeting a medium term of three (3) years period.

He further stated that it is a planning frameworksetting out fiscal policy objectives , fiscal target, revenue
projections and aggregate expenditure limits. It begins by projecting resources that would be available and allocating them according to priorities and policy direction of the government.

The 2025 –2027 documents contains three segments namely;

1. The Economic and Fiscal update(EFU) which provides a background of key economic and fiscal trend that will affect public expenditure in the futBure.

2. The Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) which set out fiscal objective and target in the medium term

3. The Budget Policy Statement (BPS) which provide indicative sector envelopes for three periods.

The total sum of Nine hundred and sixteen billion four hundred and forty seven million six hundred and seventy eight thousaynd two hundred and twenty nine thousand naira only (N916,447,678,229.00) is for 2025 while Eight hundred and forty seven billion seven hundred and forty one million six hundred and sixty one thousand eight hundred and thirty one naira only (N847,741,661,831.00) for 2026 and 2027 amounted to N2,974,947,120,81

After the presentation of the report the Speaker Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Muhammad Sarkin -Daji then commended the House Committee Members on Appropriation for a
job well done and directed the Clerk to transmit clean copies of the documents to the Executive for further action.
