Okun Leaders Meet Faleke in Abuja, Pledge Unity and Collective Action Ahead of 2027
Distinguished leaders and elders from Okun Land have reaffirmed their commitment to unity in Kogi West Senatorial District, saying a common front is critical to achieving the district’s collective aspirations.
The delegation, led by Chief Benjamin Olowodola and other respected stakeholders, met on Wednesday with a key political leader from the district for consultations on the way forward for Okun people.
Speaking after the meeting, Hon James Abiodun Faleke said: “I had the pleasure of receiving distinguished leaders and elders from Okun Land, ably led by Chief Benjamin Olowodola and other respected stakeholders.”
“It was truly heartwarming to meet with my Okun brothers, who have stood by me through thick and thin,” he added.
According to him, discussions at the meeting centered on “the unity and progress of the Kogi West Senatorial District, emphasizing the need for our people to speak with one voice and work together in pursuit of our collective aspirations.”
He stressed that collaboration among Okun communities will be vital in addressing challenges facing the district.
“It is only through unity, understanding, and a shared purpose that we can overcome every challenge before us,” he said.
The leader also expressed appreciation to the delegation for their support, stating: “I sincerely appreciate your unwavering support, words of encouragement, and steadfast belief in me. Together, we shall continue to move forward and, by the grace of God, overcome every obstacle.”
He concluded with a rallying call: _”Together, we shall conquer.”_
Chief Olowodola and other elders at the meeting were said to have echoed the need for cohesion among APC stakeholders and community leaders in Kogi West as the 2027 general elections approach.
The meeting is seen as part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening political and developmental alignment across the five Okun LGAs of Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopa-Muro.
