Olayinka Braimoh: Why He Is Different
By Abbas Yahaya
The people of Kogi State will not learn the hard way again. We have sacrificed a lot while we waited for the better. The question on the lips of many for a long time now has been, “When will that time come again when every sector of the state will be developing simultaneously, and every individual got touched and remembered as we had during the late Gov. Prince Abubakar Audu of Kogi Integrated Development Strategy?” We want a man who will reapply the magic in Kogi State.
Kogi State, being one of the states that parades intellectuals and a great percentage of rich people, has their wards and children not attending the schools in the state. Currently, when you hear of a student from Kogi State taking the first position in academics in Nigeria, be it in the West Africa Examinations Council (W.A.E.C) exams or a quiz competition, you’ll hardly read about such feat being achieved in any of the schools in Kogi. This should not be so. Our schools need to be re-equipped and given every support to perform. We need someone who will come back and rejig our educational system to start taking its rightful place amongst others in the country.
If we look at the area of employment, our state, Kogi, has not done well in that regard. The majority of jobs available in the state were created by private investors and individuals, and the enabling ground for sustainability and a conducive environment to thrive was not provided by the current government. We need someone who will create a viable economy in Kogi State through a systematic approach to making the state a job hub, just like we have in some metropolitan cities such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Cross River.
It takes a person who is fair and objective with a clear vision, courage, integrity, and humility to strategize and make comprehensive plans to develop his state in those areas that will positively affect the citizens.
Olayinka Braimoh, a trailblazer and one of the finest candidates vying for the position of governor of Kogi State on the platform of the Action Alliance (AA), said in one of his interviews with journalists, “I have stopped complaining about the state of affairs, and I want to make that change so that people will understand that there is more to life than what is obtainable right now. May I say that we are not just living but merely existing. People ought to live and enjoy staying alive. It is not just about trying to survive on a daily basis, because that is what the majority of the people are doing, and I do not think it is fair. So, coming to bring those changes in Kogi State is the reason I am running for the governorship of the state.”
In every aspect you look at, with his vast leadership knowledge garnered from his extensive travels all over the world, you will agree with me that this seasoned Real Estate Management professional who has lived a life of philanthropy and job creation, is the ideal man who will not disappoint the people of Kogi State if elected to oversee the affairs of our dear state, for you and me to smile again.
Brethren and the good citizens of the state, get yourselves ready to be part of this coming epoch-making history by electing an active and pragmatic leader with your votes through balloting. It will be a shared joy across the state when the people’s wishes are respected and achieved at the polls.
