PDP Leaders in Kabba-Bunu decamp to APC, meet Hon Faleke in Abuja
Some leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area who have concluded arrangements to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), met with the House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Finance, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke in Abuja to brief him of their intentions to join the party.
Hon Faleke used the opportunity to welcome them into the party and pointed out that President Tinubu is a man with a good heart who doesn’t care about your origin. Rather, he believes in anyone who can deliver, stressing that without his good gestures, he won’t be where he is today.
According to him, he is glad more people from Okunland are joining the party and pointed out that it was the people from Yagba Federal Constituency that first signified to move en masse, now the PDP members in Kabba-Bunu, saying there is nothing bad in one-party state in as much the people are getting the real dividends of democracy they are yearning for.
He noted that the party doesn’t bother about the number of years you have joined. Rather, it believes in what they can bring to the table in mobilizing the people to increase the membership and popularity base of the party, urging them to work with everyone within the party.
He promised to inform Governor Usman Ododo of their intentions to join the party, describing him as a humble personality who believes in the leadership of President Bola Tinubu; hence, he will create time to also welcome them into the party in the Government House, Lokoja.
He said the people of Kogi State have a lot to benefit from the current administration in the country and urged all and sundry to continue to rally their support and cooperation with the renewed hope agenda.
Hon. Idris Salman was also present to welcome them to the party and commended the efforts of Hon. Meseko, to convince them to join the APC at this crucial time to give their support to the party.
He urged them to rally around Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, and pointed out that despite people calling them colleagues at the National Assembly, he knows that he is a leader who builds leaders, hence the need to continue to give him maximum support and cooperation at all times.
The strategy meeting was facilitated by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosimi Meseko, to welcome the decampees into the party and also introduce them to party leadership at the national level.
According to him, Hon. Ben Olorunfemi, Gbenga Olorunnipa, and a host of others are political giants he has known for a long time, having worked together during his days at the National Assembly as House of Reps member, he believes in their capacity hence he admonished them to leave the sinking ship of the PDP and join the moving train of the ruling APC.
He described Hon James Faleke as a man who wants his people to grow; the reason he placed some of them in positions is to also reach out to others and assure them that they would not be relegated when they finally joined the APC.
Hon. Ben Olorunfemi and Hon. Gbenga Olorunnipa who spoke on behalf of the group said they find it necessary for them to visit Hon. Faleke first to officially inform him of their intentions to join the APC since he is one of the eyes of the President Bola Tinubu, coupled with his laudable efforts in the infrastructure development going on in Kabba-Bunu local government area and his human capital development policy.
They commended the lawmaker for his leadership prowess, which has impacted in no small measure in attracting high-caliber men and women into the party across the country, and pointed out that they are pleased with the developmental stride of the renewed hope agenda and the need to also add their values.
