Profiling Tinubu’s new Minister for Humanitarian Affairs – Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday, October 23, reshuffled his cabinet by reassigning among others the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction to Dr Nentawe Yilwatda replacing Betta Edu, who was suspended over 10 month’s ago.
Born on August 8, 1968, in Dungung, Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State to the family of late Rev. and Mrs. Toma Yilwatda, the nominee is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its estwhile governorship candidate in Plateau State.
Prof Yilwatda brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a project consultant for various government initiatives, including Nigeria’s first Integrated Financial Management Information System and the Nigeria Education and Research Network project.
Prof. Yilwatda’s educational background is impressive, showing holding of degrees in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, a Master’s in Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Digital Systems Engineering.
His expertise extends to electronic governance structures, a training he received from the United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology in Macau, China
Aside from being the candidate of candidate of the APC in Plateau state 2023 governorship polls, Prof Yilwatda has come face to face with the management of IDPs and insecurity issues in electoral democracy while being INEC Commissioner; without prejudice to the shenanigans of partisan politics, this stands him out as one of Plateau’s finest.
Congratulations to a God fearing gentleman, an ICT guru and a Professor in politics, may God grant him wisdom to succeed in uniting the Plateau APC, and bringing dividends of the renewed hope agenda to Nigeria.
