Quality Representation: Group Calls On Plateau Deputy Speaker to Recontest
The Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isa Madaki Ajiji, has been praised for his unprecedented performance.
This was the position of the Fursum Progressive Alliance, in response to a statement issued by the Fursum Online and Offline Voice of Impact.
At a press briefing held at Naton Fusa Primary School, Fursum District, Jos East Local Government Area, Chairman of the group, Mr. Idris Atsen Fursum, flanked by hundreds of supporters, stated:
“We, the Fursum Progressive Alliance, have carefully reviewed the recent press statement issued by the group known as Fursum Online and Offline Voice of Impact. While we respect their constitutional right to freedom of expression, it has become necessary to respond to correct misrepresentations, provide clarity, and reaffirm our collective commitment to truth, unity, and sustainable progress.”
He added, “As proud sons and daughters of Fursum District, we remain dedicated to community development driven by merit, fairness, and impactful leadership. Our position is clear, principled, and forward-looking in support of the successful second-term bid of Rt. Hon. Isa Madaki Ajiji, who has earned the overwhelming support of the people of Jos East.”
The statement emphasized that supporting Ajiji’s re-election is not about undermining zoning, but about rewarding proven performance and consolidating progress. It cited a precedent where a member from Shere District contested in the 8th Assembly, and there was no controversy, as it was understood that the rotational zoning arrangement would be respected.
The Fursum Progressive Alliance maintains that Rt. Hon. Isa Ajiji has no encumbrances to recontest and represents Jos East Constituency in the 2027 elections. The group’s position remains firm, consistent, and forward-looking, seeking to actualize the popular opinion that Ajiji has earned a second term through outstanding performance, dedication, and commitment to public service.
