I want to call on the General Public to ignore the above write up by Comr.Austin Okai, and such should not be taken serious. He Okai should face his political stuff and leave Academics to the Academicians. Comr Okai is not an insider and as such knows nothing about the operations of the college from it’s inception or the Law that guides her operations.
To set the record straight and for the purpose of enlightening the general public. San. Umar Shaibu was the Deputy Provost Administration between 2019-2024, a position he served meritoriously with his Boss Dr Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu, who was the then Provost before his tenure expired.
After the 8years expiration of the immediate past Provost Dr Solomon Anyegwu, he was asked to proceed on a terminal leave and hand over all the properties of the College to the Deputy Provost Administration who by law in any academic institution even in secondary schools is the next in command.
In view of his position as the Deputy Provost Administration (Conhess 15, Consolidated) as faith will have it, he was directed by the government on the advice of the council to take over from his Predecessor pending when the result of the interview will be Considered. Upon Assumption of Office as the 5th Executive Gov of Kogi State, HE Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo, dissolved all Councils of which tertiary Institutions were inclusive.
It might interest the general public to note that, San Umar Anataku Shaibu is an M.Sc holder from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho, he was one time Deputy dean’s, students Affairs, Head of Department, College Examination Secretary and later became the Deputy Provost Administration of college.
I want to say with all sincerity, since he took over as the Acting Provost on 27th December, 2023 as directed by the the government through a letter from the SSG office, he San Umar Anataku Shaibu, has done excellently well in building on the legacies of his Predecessor in the Area of Excellent and display of purposeful leadership, Academic Excellence, equity and fairness, infrastructural development, welfare and finally peaceful Coexistence among the staff, student and the College Community.
The section of the College Law are very clear in it words and letters.
While we await the Constitution of the College Council, I want to say boldly that the College is in a safe Hand and everyone is going about performing his or her legitimate duty.
I want to call on the public to disregard this publication by Comr Okai Austin, I believed he was mis- Informed about the issue. I therefore urged Mr Okai to always check fact before approaching the social media.
