By Ahiaba Douglas, Abuja

The Chartered Institute of Leadership, Manpower and Management Development (CILMMD) has conferred its prestigious Distinguished Fellowship Award on Rev. Godwin Sunday Adole in recognition of his outstanding contributions to leadership development, human capacity building, and community service.

Rev. Adole received the honour alongside other distinguished Nigerians drawn from the public and private sectors, academia, politics, and the religious community during the Institute’s 34th Induction and Investiture Ceremony. The event took place at the prestigious Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, on Friday, June 12, 2026.

The ceremony attracted notable personalities from different walks of life and served as a platform for celebrating individuals who have demonstrated excellence, commitment, and exemplary leadership in their respective fields.

Reacting to the award, Rev. Adole expressed profound gratitude to the Institute for considering him worthy of the honour, describing the recognition as one of the most memorable moments of his life.

“I am highly delighted and deeply honoured to receive this Distinguished Fellowship Award from the Chartered Institute of Leadership, Manpower and Management Development. This recognition is both humbling and inspiring. It is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me,” he said.

He noted that the award represents not only a personal achievement but also a validation of years of dedication to service, leadership, and the advancement of society.

“This conferment is a mark of honour and an acknowledgement of my contributions to promoting effective and result-oriented leadership. It encourages me to do more in the service of humanity and in the pursuit of excellence,” Rev. Adole stated.

The cleric further emphasized the importance of responsible leadership in nation-building, stressing that genuine leadership must be driven by integrity, accountability, vision, and commitment to the welfare of the people.

According to him, Nigeria’s progress depends largely on the emergence of leaders who are willing to place the interests of society above personal gains and work diligently for sustainable development.

“Leadership is a sacred responsibility. Every leader must strive to inspire positive change, empower others, and create opportunities that will improve the lives of the people. This award strengthens my resolve to continue contributing my quota to societal growth and transformation,” he added.

Rev. Adole assured the Institute that he would reciprocate the gesture by remaining committed to providing excellent and exceptional leadership within his sphere of influence and by supporting initiatives that promote human development and national progress.

“I dedicate this award to God Almighty, my family, colleagues, friends, and all those who have supported me throughout my journey. I see this recognition as a call to greater service and greater responsibility,” he remarked.

He also commended the leadership of CILMMD for its efforts in promoting leadership excellence and professional development across the country, noting that such initiatives are crucial to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

The Distinguished Fellowship Award is one of the Institute’s highest honours and is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to leadership, professional excellence, and community development.

The recognition of Rev. Godwin Sunday Adole adds to the growing list of accomplished Nigerians whose contributions continue to inspire positive change and national development. His award, observers noted, reflects the increasing importance of value-driven leadership in fostering societal progress and transformation.
