SA to the Speaker House of Reps, Barrister Jaiye Ajayi Distributes Education Materials to primary school pupils in Zaria
The Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Legal Matters, Barrister Jaiye Ajayi has distributed education materials worth millions of naira to sixteen public primary schools in Zaria metropolis.
According to him, this was part of his contribution to the federal constituency of his boss, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Iyan Zazzau.
During the presentation ceremony in Zaria, the legal expert emphasized that education was one of the key focuses of his principal during the election campaigns. He expressed his love for the education sector, especially at the primary level, which is the foundation. As a result, he decided to give back to the schools by providing school uniforms, bags, exercise books, and writing materials to the beneficiary schools.
Acknowledging the current economic situation in the country, he felt it was important to assist indigent pupils whose parents may not be able to afford decent school uniforms and other materials for their wards. Therefore, he intervened in that direction.
Alhaji Abdulsalam Babakayode, the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Political Matters, South West region, commended Barrister Ajayi for the initiative. He stated that the donation would alleviate the pressure on the parents of the pupils by making the materials available at this critical time.
He also emphasized that the donation was a result of the significant efforts of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas at the national level to bring democracy dividends to the constituency. He further indicated that more initiatives would follow soon.
He urged beneficiary schools and pupils to use the materials judiciously.
Professor Mohammaed Yau, the Education Secretary of Kaduna State, received the donation on behalf of the schools and commended Barrister Jaiye for the laudable initiative that would greatly assist the pupils.
He encouraged other well-meaning individuals who are well-to-do to emulate the legal expert, emphasizing that it has become imperative that the government can no longer handle education issues alone.
