TETFund BOARD MEMBER MOURNS IBRAHIM IDRIS, DESCRIBES HIS DEATH AS A PAINFUL LOSS TO KOGI AND NIGERIA
North-Central Representative Pays Emotional Tribute to Former Governor, Recalls His Service and Enduring Legacy

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Board of Trustees Member representing the North-Central geopolitical zone Dr Hassan Abdurahman Ocholi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his passing as a painful loss to Kogi State, the North-Central region and Nigeria.

In a heartfelt condolence message, the TETFund Board member said the death of the former Governor had created a profound void in the political and social history of Kogi State, noting that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was a respected leader whose years of service touched many lives.
He described the late former Governor as a man who devoted a significant part of his life to public service, adding that his contributions to the development of Kogi State and the growth of democratic governance would continue to be remembered.
According to him, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris provided leadership at a critical period in the history of the State and left behind footprints in infrastructure, education, healthcare and other sectors that contributed to the progress of the people.
Dr Ocholi said the former Governor’s commitment to public duty, political engagement and the welfare of the people earned him a lasting place in the history of Kogi State.
“ I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State.
“His death is a painful loss to Kogi State, the North-Central region and Nigeria. He was a leader who dedicated himself to the service of his people and contributed meaningfully to the development of the State.
“His years in office and public life will remain part of the political history of Kogi State. The people will remember his efforts in advancing infrastructure, education, healthcare and other areas of human development,” he said.
He noted that beyond his political office, the late former Governor was a father, and elder statesman whose presence brought experience and wisdom to public discourse.
The TETFund Board of Trustees member urged the family of the deceased to take solace in the enduring legacies he left behind, saying that although death had taken him away, his contributions and memories would continue to live on.
He also commiserated with the government and people of Kogi State, his political associates, friends and all those who mourned the former Governor.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, political associates, colleagues and numerous admirers of late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
“I particularly sympathise with his wife, children and loved ones at this difficult and painful moment. May God grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannat Firdaus,” he added.
