The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kaduna State Chapter, has taken decisive steps to consolidate its internal cohesion and electoral readiness as the State Working Committee (SWC) met on Wednesday at the party’s State Secretariat for its regular meeting.

The meeting, which drew key officers and stakeholders of the party, focused primarily on strengthening membership registration and assessing the preparedness of the ADC for the 2027 General Elections in Kaduna State. After extensive and exhaustive deliberations on party affairs, the Committee emerged with far-reaching resolutions aimed at reinforcing unity, discipline, and constitutional order within the party.

Central to the resolutions was a unanimous Vote of Confidence passed on the leadership of Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, the duly recognized State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Kaduna State. Members of the Committee commended his leadership style, describing it as stabilizing, inclusive, and forward-looking.

According to the SWC, Hon. Mustapha’s leadership has been instrumental in steering the party away from internal discord and repositioning it for growth and electoral competitiveness, with particular emphasis on strengthening the party’s structures at the local government level ahead of the 2027 polls.

The Committee also lauded the State Publicity Secretary, Engr. Idris Musa, for what it described as his timely, courageous, and consistent defence of the integrity of the party and its leadership. Special commendation was given for his clear and firm rejoinder to the unauthorized use of the Office of the State Publicity Secretary by Hon. Alex Tagwai and Hon. Darius Kurah—actions the Committee condemned as improper and in clear violation of the party’s constitution and rules.
In a firm warning, the SWC resolved to call on the Deputy State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Alex Tagwai, to realign himself with the duly constituted and legally recognized leadership of the party under Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha.

The Committee cautioned that failure to do so could attract disciplinary measures, including suspension.
Members expressed deep concern over Hon. Tagwai’s continued association with the suspended former Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, reminding him and the general public of subsisting court orders affirming the legitimacy of the current State Working Committee.

On matters of women leadership, the Committee unequivocally reaffirmed Hon. Joyce Sim Adamu Gamba as the only authentic and duly recognized State Women Leader of the ADC in Kaduna State. In the same vein, the SWC categorically rejected and dissociated the party’s state executive from the activities of one Ummi Cooler Lu’ulu’un Zazzau, who has allegedly been parading herself as the State Women Leader or using proxies to advance personal interests.

The Committee declared her an impostor with no mandate or recognition within the ADC structure and warned her to desist immediately from such acts of impersonation or face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law and the party’s constitution.

The SWC further noted with dismay what it described as the preposterous and illegal conversion of some Social Democratic Party (SDP) local government offices to ADC offices. While acknowledging that individuals or groups may donate offices to the party, the Committee emphasized that such actions must strictly follow due process as outlined in the party’s constitution. It warned that continued disregard for this process would attract legal action.
Concluding its resolutions, the Committee called on the general public, party members, stakeholders, and the media to disregard any statements, actions, or representations made by impostors or unauthorized individuals claiming to act on behalf of the African Democratic Congress, Kaduna State Chapter.
The resolutions, the Committee noted, are part of ongoing efforts to safeguard internal democracy, uphold the rule of law, and present a united, credible, and disciplined party ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Signed:
Engr. Idris Musa
State Publicity Secretary
African Democratic Congress (ADC)
Kaduna State Chapter
