Afizere Nation Celebrates Maiden Christmas Carol in Jos
The 2025 Christmas celebration kicked off in Jos, the Plateau State capital, with the celebration of Christmas carols in various parts of the town.
The atmosphere was electric on Sunday at the Headquarters of the Regional Church Council Jos Jarawa, in Jos North local government area, as the Afizere Nation, via Unity Choir, brought together people from all walks of life for the carol and nine lessons to usher in the 2025 Christmas celebration.
The lessons presented included Genesis 2:4-25, titled “The Creation of Man,” read by Pastor Ayuba Agwom; Genesis 3:1-24, titled “The Fall of Man,” read by Reverend David Ajang, Chairman R.C.C Jos Jarawa; Isaiah 40:1-3, titled “Comfort for God’s People,” read by Elder Izang Itse; Isaiah 9:1-7, titled “The Prophecy of the Coming Messiah,” read by Durbi Roseline Jonathan; Luke 1:26-35, titled “The Birthday of Christ Foretold,” read by Ishaku Agwom Adang; and Luke 2:1-20, titled “The Birth of Christ,” read by Barr. Izang Aware.
The carol was attended by the President of the Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA) and his officials.
The Ngas Choir graced the event with their attire and regalia and spiced the carol with beautiful renditions.
Other groups that made presentations include the Asharwa dancing group of COCIN L.C.C Jos Jarawa and Afizere Unity Choir.
