KOGI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE

CP NAZIRU BELLO KANKAROFI, psc, mni, HOLDS STRATEGIC CONFERENCE WITH SENIOR OFFICERS, TACTICAL COMMANDERS, AND HEADS OF SECTION IN LOKOJA, DECORATES 42 NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi held a strategic conference with senior officers, tactical team, and heads of section in Lokoja on November 3rd, 2025, emphasizing enhanced security measures in Kogi State. The promoted officers include:

– 3 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP): CSP Bawa Shamsudeen Ibrahim, A/O Operations department; CSP William Ovye Aya, PPRO, Kogi Command; and CSP Ocheni ENEJOH, DPO Okaba.
– 4 Superintendents of Police (SP): SP Toyin Yakubu, O/C Gender State Intelligence Department; SP Victoria James, O/C Cooperative; SP Azuh Esther, Police Clinic; and SP Ebiloma Anekwu, O/C MSD.
– 35 Assistant Superintendents of Police I (ASP I)

CP Kankarofi charged promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibilities, appreciating the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., and Police Service Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu, for prioritizing officers’ welfare. Kogi State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara, who attended the decoration ceremony, commended the command’s commitment and assured continued government support.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, extended his heartfelt gratitude for the promotion, emphasizing that the IGP’s leadership and commitment to officers’ welfare are truly inspiring. Also to the chairman, Police service commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, Rtd for finding us worthy of this elevation. While assured the command of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and community collaboration.

During the meeting, CP Kankarofi charged officers to maintain discipline and foster effective synergy, be proactive in intelligence gathering and combat criminality, uphold professionalism and community collaboration, ensure visibility policing, and foster public confidence, as well as double their efforts to enhance security in Kogi State.
