GARO LEADS GOV. YUSUF’S DELEGATION TO CONDOLE BEBEJI OVER ALHAJI DANLAMI KOFA’S DEATH, ATTENDS WEDDING AND SYMPATHY VISITS.

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday led a high-powered delegation on behalf of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf to Bebeji Local Government Area to condole with the family, political associates and the people of the area over the death of renowned politician and respected elder statesman, Alhaji Danlami Kofa.
The delegation, dispatched by Governor Yusuf as a mark of honour and solidarity, was received by the Member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, alongside members of the bereaved family, traditional and community leaders, political associates and supporters who gathered to receive the government delegation.
Speaking during the condolence visit, Deputy Governor Garo described the late Alhaji Danlami Kofa as an accomplished politician, a committed community leader and a patriotic son of Kano whose lifetime of service and dedication to the growth of democracy and development of Kano State would remain indelible.
He noted that the deceased played significant roles in the political evolution of Kano State and was widely admired for his wisdom, humility and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.
“The death of Alhaji Danlami Kofa is not only a great loss to his immediate family and the people of Bebeji Local Government Area, but also to Kano State and the nation at large. His legacy of selfless service, political maturity and community leadership will continue to inspire generations,” the Deputy Governor said.
He conveyed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s heartfelt condolences to the family and the entire people of Bebeji, assuring them that the Kano State Government shares in their grief during this difficult moment.
Deputy Governor Garo prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds, grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and bless his family with the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Late Alhaji Danlami Kofa passed away on Thursday after a brief illness. He was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area. He is survived by three wives, twenty children and numerous grandchildren.
Condolence Visit to SSA Over Mother’s Demise
In a separate engagement, the Deputy Governor paid a condolence visit to the family of Governor Yusuf’s Senior Special Assistant on Marshal, Alhaji Babangida Sa’id (IBB), following the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Inna Sa’id, who died last Sunday.
He extended the condolences of Governor Yusuf and the Kano State Government, praying that Allah (SWT) forgives her shortcomings, showers His infinite mercy upon her soul and grants her eternal abode in the highest ranks of Aljannah.
Represents Groom at Wedding Fatiha
Continuing his official engagements, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo attended the wedding Fatiha of Sani Aminu Tsanyawa and his bride, Aisha Aliyu, held at Imam Malik Mosque, Gaida, where he stood as Wakili (representative) for the groom.
The groom is the son of Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission and former Kano State Commissioner for Health.
The marriage was solemnised in accordance with Islamic tradition after the payment of a dowry of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦150,000).
The Deputy Governor congratulated both families and prayed for Allah’s guidance, protection, enduring love, peace and abundant blessings upon the newly married couple as they begin their marital life together.
Sympathy Visit to Former KSACA DG’s Father
The Deputy Governor also paid a sympathy visit to Alhaji Yushau Shuaibu, father of the former Director-General of the Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS (KSACA), Dr. Sabitu Yushau Shanono, who is currently receiving medical treatment at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).
During the visit, Garo offered prayers for Allah’s healing and mercy, wishing the patient a speedy recovery, renewed strength and good health.
The series of engagements, undertaken on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, underscores the Kano State Government’s commitment to standing with citizens in moments of grief, celebrating important milestones with communities, and demonstrating compassion and solidarity with families across the state.
