- Gov Ododo Celebrates CG Federal Fire Service, Urges Youth Inclusion, Fire Service Expansion in Kogi
The Kogi State Government has congratulated the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Samuel Olumode, on his appointment, describing it as a proud moment for the state and a testament to his dedication, and integrity in national service.
Speaking at the official homecoming ceremony in Kabba, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, on Friday, Governor Ododo represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, commended the Bunu Progressive Forum for organizing the event, noting that it reflects the unity of the people. He described Olumode’s rise to the position of the 5th Controller General as inspiring and a beacon of hope for young people in Kogi State.
The Governor expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for appointing a worthy son of Kogi State, stating that the gesture demonstrates inclusive leadership and national recognition of merit.
Reiterating his administration’s zero tolerance for insecurity, Governor Ododo urged residents to support security agencies with credible information, stressing that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority of his government.
He also called on the new Controller General to remember the youths of Kogi State by supporting initiatives that create opportunities for them, while urging him to use his office to advocate for the establishment and strengthening of Federal Fire Service stations across the state to enhance emergency response and protect lives and property.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development across all parts of the state and wished Olumode a successful and impactful tenure in office.
Earlier in their separate remarks, the National Deputy publicity secretary of the APC, Hon Duro Meseko, and the National President of Bunu Development Association, Pastor Johnson Kolawale expressed gratitude to God and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who deemed it fit to appoint an Okun son to the exhalted seat of the Controller General of Federal Fire Service, noting that Okun people will never forget the gesture by the president.
They congratulated the celebrant and expressed confidence that he will not disappoint the Okun people and the country at large.
In his vote of thanks, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Samuel Olumode thanked his kindred for the honor, assuring that he will never disappoint them. He revealed that his office had granted an approval to open a fire service station in Kabba, and pledged to do more for the state.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied to the event by the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba, Deputy Majority Leader KSHA, Hon Ahmodu Seidu, APC chieftain in Idah LGA, Alhaji Friday Idachaba, Executive Director Kogi Oil Producing Area Development Commission, Engr Ndah Muhammed, APC chieftain from Ofu LGA, Hon Gambo Haruna, among others government officials.
