National Youth Agenda (PDP, Kogi State) Calls for Public Attention Regarding Betrayal by Barr. Kabiru Usman Over Alleged Misuse of PDP Forms

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State chapter, today called for disregarding anything from Barr. Kabiru Usman due to his actions in obtaining intent and nomination forms for another aspirant. This goes against the clear wishes of the Kogi State PDP State Working Committee (SWC), which affirmed Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim as the consensus candidate announced by the State party chairman on 10/4. Hon. Abdulkadir received the majority vote, making him the sole candidate for the Ibadan National Convention.

We have learned that Barr. Kabiru Usman obtained nomination forms meant for consensus and endorsed candidates for the position of National Youth Leader. This move ignored the party’s agreed processes and attempted to impose unpopular candidates on the members. Such actions damage internal democracy and disregard the wishes of party members in Kogi State.

We formally ask the PDP National Working Committee and members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) to reject the nominee and any candidate proposed through these irregular means. This situation has already created significant tension within the State Working Committee and raised concerns among loyal party members across Kogi State.

If the National Working Committee and BoT do not act quickly to uphold the party’s procedures and restore confidence, the National Youth Agenda will have to consider stronger actions. This may include shutting down party activities in the state and organizing further protests until the issue is resolved.

“We appeal to the leaders of our great party: do not sacrifice the majority decision for the personal gain of one leader. We must defend the integrity of our democratic processes,” said the leadership of the National Youth Agenda, Kogi State.

We urge the security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), to investigate these alleged irregularities and take action if any criminal activity is found, to protect democracy and its principles.

The National Youth Agenda is committed to the party’s unity, internal democracy, and safeguarding members’ rights. We will continue to consult and will announce further steps if the situation is not resolved.
