Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance (NYAGG) Honours Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi as Nigerian Youth Ambassador of the Year, Icon of Peace and Beacon of Excellence

In recognition of his immense contributions to youth empowerment, peace building and the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector, the Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance (NYAGG) has conferred the prestigious awards of Nigerian Youth Ambassador of the Year, Icon of Peace and Beacon of Excellence in the Nigerian Maritime Sector on Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi, the Executive Director of the International Maritime Institute of Nigeria.

The award presentation ceremony was held on May 5, 2026, at the office of the distinguished naval officer in Abuja, where members of the organization formally decorated him with the honour in appreciation of his remarkable contributions to nation-building and youth development.

The Chairman of the Platform, Hon. Comrade Olorunhudo Samuel Taiwo, while presenting the award on behalf of the Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance (NYAGG), commended Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi for his unwavering dedication to mentoring young Nigerians and supporting initiatives aimed at building a better and more prosperous society.

According to him, Rear Admiral Bushi has emerged as one of the nation’s foremost role models whose impact has extended beyond the shores of Nigeria, positively influencing young people across different parts of the world through his leadership qualities, motivational engagements and support for programmes geared towards human capital development.

Hon. Comr. Olorunhudo Samuel Taiwo noted that the honour was carefully conceived by NYAGG to celebrate distinguished Nigerians whose contributions have continued to inspire hope, encourage excellence and promote good governance, adding that Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi has undoubtedly distinguished himself in these regards.

He described the award recipient as a man of vision, discipline and integrity, whose career and life achievements have become a source of inspiration to thousands of youths seeking meaningful direction and purpose.

“Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi has consistently demonstrated uncommon commitment to the advancement of young people. Through his mentorship and support, many Nigerians have become successful professionals and leaders in their various fields. His contributions to the growth of the maritime sector and his passion for youth development make him deserving of these honours,” Hon. Taiwo stated.

He further emphasized that the Executive Director of the International Maritime Institute of Nigeria has continued to deploy his wealth of experience and influence towards promoting peace, national unity and sustainable development, thereby earning the admiration and respect of numerous stakeholders within and outside the country.

The youth leader expressed gratitude to Rear Admiral Bushi for his consistent support for programmes capable of taking Nigeria to greater heights, describing him as a “useful instrument in lifting many souls” through his inspiring speeches, exemplary leadership and commitment to humanity.

“We are truly blessed to have a personality like Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi among us. His life is a testament to selfless service, excellence and patriotism. Through his motivational messages and encouragement, countless young Nigerians have found direction and purpose. He remains a beacon of hope and a shining example of what leadership should represent,” Hon. Comrade Olorunhudo Samuel Taiwo said.

He reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance (NYAGG) to continually recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals whose lives and achievements contribute significantly to national development and the promotion of good governance.

Responding to the honour bestowed upon him, Rear Admiral Dr. Kasimu Musa Bushi expressed appreciation to NYAGG for finding him worthy of the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young people and contribute to the advancement of the nation.
