OPPOSITION COALITION IN KOGI STATE UNVEILS ADC AS UMBRELLA BODY, PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE PRESIDENT BUHARI
In a significant development, the opposition coalition in Kogi State, led by Senator Tunde Ogbeha, has unveiled the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its official platform.
The unveiling ceremony, which drew a large crowd of dignitaries and supporters, was marked by a poignant tribute to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday after a brief illness.
Senator Ogbeha, a former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, explained that the coalition had already scheduled the programme to unveil the ADC as its umbrella body before the news of President Buhari’s passing.
As a mark of respect, the coalition suspended all other activities and paid tribute to the late President.
In his remarks, Senator Ogbeha ordered for both Islamic and Christian prayers for the repose of President Buhari’s soul and prayed for the fortitude of his family to bear the loss.
Other dignitaries, including Senator Nuhurudeen Abatemi and former Deputy Governor Simon Achuba, also paid glowing tributes to the late President, commending his commitment to national service and calling for peace and unity among the coalition members.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Senator Dino Melaye, former Governorship Candidate, ex-Assembly members, Local Government Chairmen, and Councilors.
The opposition coalition’s decision to adopt the ADC as its platform is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Kogi State and challenge the existing political order.
With this development, the coalition is poised to make a significant impact in the state’s politics.
