ADC Chairmanship Candidate Berates Fct Minister For Neglecting Key Sectors of The Nation’s Capital.

Ahiaba Douglas  – Abuja

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Candidate for the Abuja Area Municipal Council AMAC, Dr. Moses Paul has berated the FCT Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike over what he described as misgovernance and maladministration.

Dr. Moses accused the Minister of the federal Capital Territory for undermining and neglecting key Sectors of the Federal Capital Territory that has direct bearings in the lives of the Masses.

Dr. mo as he is fondly Called, lamented the Closure of Primary Schools and Primary Health Centres in the Nation’s Capital, describing the nonfunctioning of key Sectors that has Significant impacts in the lives of the people as not only bad, but a Sin which has to be addressed with immediate urgency.

Dr.Paul disclosed this to the media, shortly, after he was declared the Consensus Chairmanship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), ahead of the 2026 Councils elections, at a Congress that took place Saturday, june 28th, 2025, at the National Headquarters of the Party, under the the Supervision of the National leadership of the party.

He said it’s highly unthinkable, unacceptable and unimaginable that in the 21st Century, Children in AMAC and the Fct generally were out of School for a period of Six Months, and Primary Health Care Centers also under lock and key in the Capital of the most populous black Nation of the World,he described such action as the Pauperization of illiteracy and poverty amongst the people of the current generation and generation yet unborn.

“AMAC Fct is just like Paris, Washington D.C and London of the United Kingdom, how will it Sound in the ears that Children in Government Schools in these Capital Cities are out of School”. Describing the development as unfortunate and the peak of irresponsibility on the part of the administration’s leadership.

Reacting to a Statement Credited to the Minister of the federal Capital Territory(Fct), Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, where he ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), not to sell intent declaration form to members of other political Parties, the ADC Candidate described the statements as undemocratic, unacceptable, indecorous and reprehensible, adding that it is an embarrassment and National disgrace for a Minister of a federal republic to make such Comment in the presence and to the hearing of Diplomat and Heads of High Commission of various Nations.

The ADC Candidates further expressed his gratitude to the leadership and members of the party for the trust and Confidence reposed in him, which culminated to his emergence as the Party’s Candidate in the much anticipated Federal Capital Territory’s Council Elections.

He assured the People of a people’s Centred leadership where the welfare of the masses will receive priority attention from the leadership of the Area Council if eventually elected, even those in remote Villages would feel the impacts of the government he will lead, he said.

Continuing, Dr. Moses decried the dearth of local governance and inclusive leadership in Abuja Municipal Area Council , lamenting that what they have had over the years was the recycling of failure, buttressing that there are Communities within the Area Council that lack access to basic amenities, noting that his leadership would impacts all the residents and residence if elected.

Concerning fears that has griped and enveloped Some members of the African Democratic Congress ADC,of the impossibility of a free and fair electoral process, against the backdrop of the rumour making the round that the results of the much anticipated 2026 Federal Capital Territory (Fct), Councils elections had already been written in favor of the All Progressives Congress, a development that has led to disillusionment and lack of interest amongst members of other political parties with speculation that the election could be a mere formality, Dr. Moses Countered such Claims, arguing that it only exit in the imagination of the current leadership of the Areas Council who were already afraid of eminent defeat.

” We are going to vote, defend our votes and our votes will count” he assured members of the African Democratic Congress.
