CPI Reaffirms Commitment to Humanitarian Service at Family, Friends’ Get-Together in Kogi
A leading non-governmental organisation in Kogi State, Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI), on Tuesday hosted a get-together for families and friends in Lokoja, reaffirming its commitment to selfless service to humanity.
The event, which brought together stakeholders from different walks of life, provided an opportunity for participants to celebrate the organisation’s achievements and renew support for its humanitarian programmes across the state.
Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Director of CPI, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, expressed gratitude to God for the successes recorded by the organisation so far this year, describing the journey as both challenging and rewarding.
“We are deeply grateful to God Almighty for how far He has brought us. The successes we celebrate today are not the efforts of one person but the collective contributions, prayers, and support of many individuals who believe in our vision,” Agbogun said.
She explained that CPI was founded with a clear vision to address sensitive family and social challenges, particularly among couples struggling with parenthood.
“When I came to Kogi State from the Bahamas, I had a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to society by addressing the challenges faced by couples who are unable to have children,” she stated.
“From that initial dream, our vision expanded to include ensuring that vulnerable groups in society women, children, and the girl-child have a sense of belonging and hope for a better future.”
Agbogun noted that, by God’s grace, CPI has made remarkable progress over the years, adding that the organisation remains committed to doing more in the coming years.
“We have achieved milestones we once only imagined, and this is by the grace of God and the unwavering support of the people around us. I can assure you that CPI will continue to impact lives positively in Kogi State and Nigeria at large,” she added.
Earlier in her remarks, a lecturer at the Federal University Lokoja, Dr. Aisha, commended CPI for its consistency and dedication to humanitarian service in the state.
“CPI has continued to demonstrate genuine concern for the less privileged. I pray that God will strengthen and sustain the organisation as it continues to address the plight of vulnerable people in our society,” she said.
Also speaking, the Publisher of The Nigeria Post newspaper, Michael Abu, described CPI as a blessing to humanity, noting that its interventions have touched many lives in Kogi State.
“CPI is indeed a blessing to humanity, and we will forever be grateful to its management team. This gathering has become an annual tradition, and we are optimistic that greater achievements lie ahead for the organisation,” Abu remarked.
A veteran broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mrs. Khadija Abubakar, also applauded CPI for its impactful programmes, urging the organisation not to relent in its efforts to support the vulnerable.
Other attendees at the event pledged their unalloyed support to CPI, assuring the management of continued partnership and cooperation to further strengthen the organisation’s humanitarian mission in the near future.
